Posada
During Advent, we have had an event called Posada taking place. This has consisted of some sets of Nativity figures (Mary, Joseph and Donkey) going around the town. These sets have included some information about Christmas and a Posada Prayer. Some sets have gone to the local schools and some have gone to the local hotels. This has been to signify Mary and Joseph's journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem. It has been warmly received by all involved and the figures will be coming to church on Christmas Eve for the Carols by Candlelight. Many of the hotels will have guests in during Advent so it is an excellent opportunity to get not just our community thinking about the real meaning of Christmas but also those who are visiting us and their home communities.
